Abstract

A keynote at DCCI 2024 on rebuilding data architecture for cloud-native computing without losing competitive positioning — covering the JCorp Azure consolidation, the move to a Group-wide data backbone, and the operating-model implications.

The talk opens with the cost of a fragmented data estate — not in dollars, but in calendar days between a board question and a defensible answer. It then walks through the JCorp consolidation onto Azure, the design choices for the data backbone, and the operating-model implications for the subsidiaries. The closing section addresses the question that always comes from the floor: how to sustain competitiveness during the migration, not after it.
